Austria’s KTM Bike Partners with Ayala

BEING DYNAMIC is one of the factors why Ayala Corporation remains a force to reckon with in the Philippine business environment. The country’s oldest business conglomerate has experienced a lot of the major challenges in Philippine history from the 1896 revolution to the EDSA People Power uprising in 1986.
In its latest business roadmap called “Ayala 2020”, Ayala Corporation Chairman and CEO Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala II disclosed the business heavyweight will engage in new business to be housed in its subsidiary called Ayala Automotive Unit.
The new business venture, in partnership with Austrian motorcycle firm KTM Group, will make Ayala the exclusive distributor of KTM products and the manufacturer of motorcycles for the local market and for export to China and Southeast Asian countries.
Ayala Corporation President and COO Fernando Zobel de Ayala expressed optimism in the joint venture saying “are very excited to introduce KTM and its line up of outstanding performance motorcycles to the Philippines.”
Meanwhile, KTM Chief Executive Officer Stefan Pierer was confident that the partnership with Ayala has a lot of potential because the Philippine business giant has excellent capabilities in manufacturing, distributorship and dealership, as well as its regional expertise and excellent reputation.
For 2017, KTM has introduced new models that included the 125 XC-W and the 150 XC-W, which are developed for closed course racing.
According to its website, KTM also has models for the more traditional, fully homologated powerhouse users with the 250 EXC and 300 EXC in the 2-stroke range. In the 4-stroke range KTM launched the 250 EXC-F, 350 EXC-F models, as well as modifying the name of the higher capacity models to fall in line with the typical 4-stroke name to 450 EXC-F and 500 EXC-F.
Through its website, KTM also announced the launching of the new the new “Six Days Spain” bikes, designed with sophisticated special graphics, top the latest KTM EXC model range. TP
